Sweet Tweets

During his chronic tweeting phase, which is like the puberty of social media, our John Patrick Gallagher received one of the highest reweet rates in the system and was asked to be a Beta Tester on the developement of the new ReTweet (RT) system.

BTW, RTs are tweets so funny or insightful, that tweeple send them on (retweet them) to all their followers. Most of the selections here were retweeted many times often with the addition of LOL or even ROFLOL. Other tweets we just plain like.

The very best tweets should be good enuff for Bartlett's quotations, Ben Franklin's Old Farmers Almanac or for a Letterman monologue. Ogden Nash (Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker) would have been one of the best.

In this process, Gallagher learned what works on Twitter, and what doesn't. The key rule is "be there". Twitter is not for those who have an idea on every other Friday. Good Twitterers tweet early and tweet often. They reweet good stuff. And they get a reputation for it.

If you want to market anything on Twitter, you must first establish your value as a person, or no one but twits on automated following will follow you.
